West Sussex County Council Report on flooding 2012

This report, although long winded (108 pages !!) is quite easy to browse through and makes interesting reading and very relevant to our predicament in Pagham and Aldwick. It clearly talks about the problems that occured in Hook Lane and surrounding areas and the index (look for West Bognor) allows you to read what happened.The more building that takes place, the less land that can absorb and drain this water away hence putting severe pressure on our "dirty water" drain away. A more extreme way of looking at this is the fact that many local authorities are insisting that driveways etc. are made of porous materials and NOT concrete et al to allow surface water to drain naturally into the ground and NOT into our sewerage systems.

I will try and condense the document to only include relevant information pertaining to our area but this will take time. Therefore bear with me !!
